Bring your child’s outgrown cleats, shin guards, etc and pick up some new(ish) ones!
It’s finally here! A Saturday without torrential raining and we even have some relatively dry ground to play on. Some of the recent messages have been unclear, so we want to let everyone know:
- There is NO makeup soccer this evening Friday 5/3. All of the makeups will be scheduled after our new official Opening Day – tomorrow Saturday 5/4.
- All of Rec Soccer – ALL GRADES , ALL STARTING TIMES, are located at FORT RIVER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. (PLUMBROOK IN NOT AVAILABLE)
On the first day, please arrive 10 minutes early so that you can check in. Look for the white tent and tables where you’ll receive the shirt for your child.
Don’t forget to bring the following –
- Soccer Cleats
- Shin Guards
- Soccer ball of appropriate size (grades PK, K, 1 size 3; grades 2 – 6 size 4; grades 7 – 8 size 5)
There will be a gear exchange table where you may be able to find something in your child’s size. And please be generous for the next group of kids with shin guards and cleats that have been outgrown.

Next week’s meeting will focus on finance, fundraising, fields, volunteer needs, and a few other items.
Once again, heavy rains have forced us to postpone the beginning of our recreational soccer program, as well as many or all of this weekend’s travel team games (check with your travel coach if you have an away game scheduled). We will be working on rescheduling so please check back for details.

MAKE-UP sessions BEGIN AFTER THE FIRST SATURDAY OF RECREATIONAL SOCCER.
We’ve had a lot of rain so far this spring and it makes our scheduling difficult. We had planned to have our first make-up session for the PK and K teams today, but that will need to be postponed.
Weather permitting, the first make-up date for grades 1-8 is 5/3, but if we are rained out this Saturday that make-up date will have to be rescheduled.
The first make-up date for PK and K is now scheduled for 5/10, as follows:
PK (both the 1:00 PM and 3:15 PM): Friday 5/10, 4:00–4:45 PM @ Fort River
K: Friday 5/10, 5:00–6:00 PM @ Fort River
